FOR GENERAL RELEASE:
December 12, 2005
The Trustees of the Braitmayer Foundation are pleased to announce that Sabina Taj has been chosen to succeed Robert L. Kirkpatrick as their advisor.
Ms. Taj is an experienced professional in the grant making arena. She served most recently as a Program Officer for the Columbia Foundation in Columbia Maryland. She has also served as a Senior Grants Manager for Share Our Strength (SOS) in Washington D.C.; and as a Program Director for the Congressional Hunger Center, also in Washington. Ms. Taj has a M.A. in Psychology from Georgetown University, and dual B.A. degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the California Lutheran University.
Ms. Taj will begin her engagement with the Foundation as of January 1st 2006 in order to have as much time as possible to work with Mr. Kirkpatrick prior to his departure after the Foundation's March 2006 meeting. Ms. Taj will become the contact point for the foundation in April of 2006.
Mr. Kirkpatrick will remain as the contact point for the foundation through the March 2006 meeting for any grants, currently under consideration. Site visits that have been announced, but not yet scheduled will continue to be arranged by Mr. Kirkpatrick. Any stewardship reports due from past grant recipients should be forwarded to Mr. Kirkpatrick. To the greatest extent possible, Ms. Taj will accompany the Foundation trustees and Mr. Kirkpatrick on these upcoming site visits.
"When Bob [Kirkpatrick] told us that he would like to retire, we were a bit worried about how well we could replace him. His tenure of fifteen years has been full of sage wisdom and profound coaching. After nine months of careful work, however, we think we've found another gem. We are excited by the prospect of working with Ms. Taj…" said R. Davis Webb, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Braitmayer Foundation.
The Braitmayer Foundation was established in 1964 by Marian S. Braitmayer. It is interested in K-12 Education throughout the United States. More detailed information and grant guidelines are available online at www.braitmayerfoundation.org. Guidelines
